Reviews
Very limited Supplies so I very rarely go there to shop because they never have what I need 2/5 items.
So I always find I have to go to BAY VILLAGE anyway.
But I often use the RECYCLING COLLECTION POINT when it's not full & out of action
Well, convenient, just like any Coles.
Was yelled at, by Lady regulating the self service checkout, as I didn't realise there was 1 person before me( the staff member was chatting to this person and I didn't realise it was a queue. A till became available as I was walking to this area, so I naturally went there, not realising that this other customer, talking to the staff member was a queue.
I was mortified, as the staff member yelled so loudly at me that the shop became quiet and every one turned to see what the commotion was about. It was so embarrassing . I apologised and explained that I didn't realise the customer was in a queue , I thought they were chatting. And stepped aside.
After my purchase I explained to the staff member that I did not mean to skip the one person queue etc. And that she had embarrased me, made me look and feel like I had committed a crime. The extent of her reaction had been uncalled for. A weak apology eventually from this staff member. Not sincere. As she then went on to explain that everyone had to wait their turn blah blah blah. I am not a moron. I am well brought up and dont skip queues.
The WORST supermarket I have ever been to in the entire world. It is straight out of the 1980’s and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since. Very little fresh food extremely overpriced $5 for one old wilted lettuce, bananas $2 each, etc etc all frozen and processed food. This store actually has a paid security guard 24/7 who will stand over you at the self-serve checkout to make sure you don’t accidentally input the wrong item or forget something, and there is a camera recording your face whilst you scan your own items. An appalling way to treat customers and people of the community. What kind of world is this in 2023? Feels like an Orwellian nightmare! Coles only serve their shareholders, making billions in profits for them who do absolutely nothing, whilst sucking money out of the community of people buying food. Appalling.
Always easy to acess and friendly obliging staff too. Consistent service.
Consistently the worst Grocery Store I ever visit. Countless times there have been numerous empty racks in the bakery section at 8:30am, when all i want is some fresh baked goods. Always ridiculously slow checkout machines and the most backwards, poorly designed lay out that makes shopping tedious and unnecessarily slow. Never satisfied with my experience coming here and even as a LAST resort they still let me down, every, time.
Great little coles store. I stop in there on my way home from physio or hydrotherapy so I dont have to shop at coles at toukley near my home. Shop is always clean and has at least one regular register open. Staff friendly and helpful. Car park needs work as im unstable on my feet and the car park is ripped up and trip hazards.
Smaller, older and basic. Great place to stop by if you need the staples but I wouldn't do a full shop here. Range is limited and the store is dated, staff are always friendly.
I don't go there as much because there's always someone selling something at the front door. I don't like feeling the awkward obligation to buy a ticket when I struggle to buy milk. Chittaway is the same with sellers and buskers. If I dontated to all of these charities everytime I went past one, I too would need charity.
